France

France is one of the world’s most iconic destinations, where centuries of history, remarkable architecture and vibrant culture combine with breathtaking countryside, picturesque villages and spectacular coastlines. Renowned for its world-class cuisine, fashion, art and global influence, France offers unforgettable experiences, from the streets of Paris and the vineyards of Bordeaux to the lavender fields of Provence and the snow-capped Alps.

  • France has an excellent high-speed rail network, making trains one of the quickest and most convenient ways to travel between major cities.
  • While English is widely spoken in many tourist areas, learning a few basic French phrases is appreciated and can enhance your experience.
  • Many museums and attractions require advance booking during peak travel seasons, particularly in Paris.
  • France is renowned for its regional cuisine, so take the opportunity to sample local specialities, cheeses and wines as you travel around the country. This varies widely throughout the country with some exceptional options being the world’s best oysters in Languedoc and champagne in the region that gives the drink its name!
