General Tips for Morocco
- It was quite hot when we went in early June, 35 every day so if you don’t like the heat definitely go earlier in the year.
- Cheaper than expected.
- Morocco has a closed currency so you will need to exchange cash once you are there, there are lots of banks with cashpoints at Jemaa el-Fnaa.
- We quickly realised that uber didn’t really work and the drivers were only allowed in certain areas.
- Our hotel had two taxis so we used them throughout and would communicate on WhatsApp which was really easy.
Destinations and Tips
Marrakesh
- Stayed in Riad L’Atelier which was so gorgeous and the staff were all lovely, the spreads they put on for breakfast were so good.
- Only downside was that the pool was on the ground floor so didn’t get any of the sun and was v cold!
- Would love to stay at Beldi Country Club for a different vibe, went there for the day and loved it and would also love to stay at Farasha Farmhouse.
- Most reccomended: Shopping in the souks, a pool day at Beldi Country Club to escape the city, El Fenn rooftop.
- Jemaa el-Fnaa because is a bit of a tourist trap with the snake charmers etc but we found some incredible ceramics in that area and it was quite fun to watch all the hustle and bustle.
- The food at Beldi Country Club was delicious but the lamb and apricot tagine from El Fenn was a standout.
