General Tips for Greece
- Very friendly people in the north and more relaxed than the islands.
- So much to see and do in Thessaloniki but it can be quite hot walking around.
- Can also be a two centred holiday with many of the beaches nearby.
- Possible access also from nearby Albania by car but does take some time through the mountains.
Destinations and Tips
Thessaloniki
- The beaches are all very near the city, so we enjoyed going into the city on many days.
- There is much to do there, including the White Tower and Alexander the Great statue.
- We stayed close to the airport at the Hyatt, great hotel but not on the beach.
- There are many shuttles to the beach and it isn’t overcrowded.
- Getting the boat was easy from various points including into the city or just for the hour.
- Some good food options along the sea front.
- We also found a shopping centre nearby which was good value, which is called Mediterranean Cosmos.
